Vanaf die eerste kennismaking met 'n nuwe taal, moet die voornemende spreker probeer om nuwe klanke en woorde so vinnig moontlik met selfvertroue te hanteer. Die uitdaging is om dié taak met so veel spoed en genot as moontlik aan te pak - 'n ideaal wat ons rekenaarprogram, Eksieperfeksie-Afrikaans, hopelik sal ondersteun. Die opnames illustreer die unieke intonasie of "wysie" van die Afrikaanse manier van praat. Sorg is gedra om óf sosiale gesprekvoering in verskillende situasies te skep, óf bloot taalkundige paradigma te illustreer. Luister-, lees- en skryfoefeninge word dus gekombineer om woordeskat en taalsoepelheid in alledaagse situasies uit te bou.

Die kunstenaars?

Leon van Nierop en sy span het die dialoë in die Maroela Ateljees in Pretoria opgeneem en geredigeer. Die karakters is vertolk deur professionele akteurs uit die verskillende Afrikaanse taallandskappe. Die stemopnames van meer grammatikale temas is gedoen deur Rina Loader en Reina-Marie Loader (Faculty of Media and Communication, Bournemouth University, England).

Marieke Goedegebure (Nederlandse taaldosent) wys tereg daarop dat 'n sterk aksent die aandag van die luisteraar aflei, maar aan die anderkant verdien 'n goeie uitspraak gewoonlik baie bewondering. Die einddoel van Eksieperfeksie-Afrikaans is dan ook om by te dra tot bewondering van nuwe sprekers se verworwe taalvaardighede.

What is "Eksieperfeksie-Afrikaans"?

• All the voice recordings and memoranda link directly to Kortpad-Praatjies I / Shortcut Talks I.
• It is a series of recordings that assist new speakers with the pronunciation of Afrikaans.

From the first acquaintance with a new language, the prospective speaker must try to handle new sounds and words with confidence as quickly as possible. The challenge is to tackle this task with as much speed and enjoyment as possible - an ideal that our computer program, Eksieperfeksie-Afrikaans, will hopefully support.

The recordings illustrate the unique intonation or "tune" of the Afrikaans way of speaking. Care has been taken to either create social conversations in different situations, or simply illustrate a linguistic paradigm. Listening, reading and writing exercises are therefore combined to build vocabulary and language fluency in everyday situations.

The artists
Leon van Nierop and his team recorded and edited the dialogues in the Maroela Studios in Pretoria. The characters were played by professional actors from the various Afrikaans language landscapes. The completion of voice recordings with more grammatical themes was done by Reina-Marie Loader (Faculty of Media and Communication, Bournemouth University, England). She and Rina Loader did the reading of the texts.

Marieke Goedegebure rightly points out that a strong accent distracts the listener, but on the other hand a good pronunciation usually deserves a lot of admiration. The ultimate goal of Eksieperfeksie-Afrikaans is therefore to contribute to the admiration of new speakers' acquired language skills.
